The World's Most Hardcore ATV Locations

If you have an insatiable need for speed, it's time you checked out some of the most hardcore off road driving destinations on the planet. They're fast, they're messy, they're downright terrifying, the question is - can you handle it?

Adrenaline-pumping at Al Khobar

Channel your inner Indiana Jones by riding an all-terrain vehicle on the sand dunes of the Persian Gulf at Al Khobar. Sure, you might be staying in the comfort of the Park Inn in Al Khobar but that doesn't mean there aren't imaginary bad guys to run away from/treasure to chase.

Off the radar outback

What do you get when you combine some of the world's most dangerous terrain with quad bikes? An ATV experience you'll never forget. Skippy better watch himself, because these ATVs sure kick up plenty of dust. Head to Central Australia for bush tracks, rugged mountain paths and dry sandy river beds and get a taste for off-roading the Australian way. Try Outback Quad Adventures.

All-time high in Arizona

Get yourself down to Sycamore Creek for stunning scenes and truly challenging rides. There's over 100 miles of track to ride your ATV on, so take on some of the tougher routes - if you dare. As you travel across dried out creek beds, climb steep hills and manoeuvre through a number of canyons, you can glimpse beautiful views of the Superstition and Four Peaks Mountains.

Have a Highland fling

You might think Scotland's all about haggis, bag pipes and men in skirts…but few countries offer an epic backdrop for your ATV ride to rival the Scottish Highlands. The Caledonian forests whisper their ancient secrets as you pass, headed for the next soaring hill or raging river rapids. Head to Aviemore - the centre of all kinds of outdoor fun.

Walk on the wild side in South Africa

At the Wild Coast reserve in Inkwenkwezi it's not the terrain you need to be worried about - it's the sharp-clawed furry friends who may be lurking in the bushes nearby. If you like your ATV action with a safari element this is the adventure for you. Catch some of South Africa's most majestic animals in their natural habitat as you make your way across the reserve.

Off road in Ohio

Wayne National Forest offers a mixture of dirt trails and hard surfaced trails for ATVs over an area of 116 miles. Trail riding is pretty well established in the forest so you'll find plenty of facilities and other riders, there are even camping spots available.
